Yellow Bus Eligibility and Conditional Riders 2026-2027

DETERMINING ELIGIBILITY FOR YELLOW BUS SERVICE
Eligibility for yellow bus service is determined by where a student lives. Find your designated school by entering your home address into Find a School.
Students attending their designated school may be eligible for yellow bus service if they are:
- in Kindergarten to Grade 6 and live at least 1.6 kilometres away, or
- in Grades 7 to 12 and live at least two kilometres away and Edmonton Transit (ETS) is not available.

CONDITIONAL RIDERS
Conditional riders are students who are not eligible for regular or alternative program yellow bus service but ask to ride on an existing route if there is space on the bus.
2026–27 school year
Apply to be a conditional rider by completing the 2026–27 yellow bus application form.
After you apply
Conditional rider applicants are considered and assigned to a bus route only after all eligible students have been assigned. Most conditional applicants are approved before the school year begins, but some may be approved as late as October.
Be sure to have another way to get your child to school in case your conditional rider application is not approved, or approved after the school year begins.
